Join us for the Ladies' Evening at St Columba's College on Friday 16th March, with guest speaker Gifty Enright. Gifty has written the book 'Octopus on a Treadmill' about how to maintain the balance and not lose yourself, while spinning all the plates as a working mother.

This will be a relaxed and informal social event with a glass of prosecco available on arrival, and canapes served during the evening. A cash bar will also be available.

Cost: £15

Octopus on a Treadmill

“Octopus on a Treadmill” in the words of Joanna Lumley:

‘’encapsulates the timeless truth that what a woman puts into her body, mind and spirit can weigh her down or buoy her up to live a better, stronger, healthier and happier life.

Every working mother needs to read this book, if for nothing else, to know that you are not alone and to have a good laugh, as it is hilarious in parts. I wish I had this book when I was starting out. This book is a celebration of all women.’’

About the Author

Gifty Enright, like so many modern women, leads a busy hectic life. Alongside her work as an author, she is the Managing Director of a successful sports events company, and also provides IT consulting services on major transformation programmes to multi-national companies. She is married with two children and lives in Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom.

She trained originally as an accountant and worked in a variety of blue chip companies before crossing over into IT consultancy. She has implemented business and IT projects globally in the UK, Ireland, America, Japan and Kuala Lumpur.

Gifty has spent the last twenty years studying the effects that the hectic life of the busy working mother has on women and their health (physical, emotional and spiritual). Her book, ‘Octopus on a Treadmill’ is based on her life’s experience across diverse cultures, research and science. It is about how to maintain the balance and not lose yourself, while spinning all the plates as a working mother.
